Customs & Taxes

Responsibility: Customs charges and local VAT are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Prices on our site include Japanese tax only.

Additional Fees for Private Carriers: When using Private Carriers (DHL & UPS), please be aware that the total import cost tends to be higher than EMS. This is often due to additional charges such as:

MPF (Merchandise Processing Fee): A government-imposed fee for processing imports.

Carrier Handling Fees: Advancement or brokerage fees charged by private carriers for handling customs on your behalf.

Important Notice on Fees: Please note that these additional fees are billed directly by the shipping carrier or local government authorities. These are NOT charges from LUNA PARK. We do not receive any portion of these payments.

Billing Timing: In most cases, carriers will request payment before delivery. However, please be aware that in rare instances, you may receive a bill after the package has been delivered.

Payment Deadlines: To ensure a smooth delivery and avoid any legal or collection issues, please check the payment deadlines provided by the carrier and complete your payment promptly.

DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid): LUNA PARK ships all orders as DDU. Since tax rates and regulations vary significantly by country, we cannot provide exact estimates for these duties or fees. For inquiries regarding the total amount, please contact the local branch of your carrier or refer to your local customs website for the most accurate information.

Process: Customs clearance may take additional time. LUNA PARK has no control over the customs process and cannot speed up the clearance.

Tax ID Requirements

Timely Response Requested: Regardless of whether customs duties are applied, the carrier or customs authorities may contact you to request necessary information or a Tax ID for clearance purposes.

For a seamless customs process, please keep an eye on your contact method (email/phone) and provide any requested ID information promptly to the authorities.

Customs procedures for Private Carriers (DHL & UPS) are generally considered to be more stringent than postal services. To ensure smooth delivery and avoid delays or returns, please provide your ID/Tax number at checkout if you are shipping to the following regions:

South Korea: PCCC / Indonesia: KTP or NPWP / China: Resident ID / Brazil: CPF or CNPJ / Mexico: RFC / Chile: RUT / Saudi Arabia: Personal ID or VAT ID / Taiwan: TIN or EZ WAY.

Other Regions: Please note that you may be required to provide identification for other countries not listed above, depending on local customs regulations and carrier requirements.
